Who better to judge an ugly sweater contest than the original holiday fashion critic himself? On December 20th, The Siouxville Grinch served as Guest Judge at ACME Comics & Collectibles in Sioux City for their very first Ugly Sweater Contest — running from 12–1 PM.
The Contestants Were Brave. The Judge Was Harsh.
Competitors lined up in their most outrageous holiday knitwear, hoping to impress the pickiest judge in all of Siouxland. The Grinch inspected each sweater with the kind of critical eye that only comes from 30+ years of being the villain in every Christmas story.
Reindeer patterns? "Nauseating." Blinking LED lights? "Unnecessarily cheerful." A sweater with a tiny Santa on the chest? "Bold choice. I respect the audacity."
In the end, the winner was crowned — and the Grinch grudgingly admitted it was the ugliest thing he'd ever seen. High praise, coming from him.
