SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - ACME Comics and Collectibles held their first ugly sweater contest Friday, Dec. 20, at around 12 p.m. with a special guest judge: the Siouxville Grinch.
The local comic store welcomed families to spend a little quality time with the Grinch while shopping for comics and collectibles.
Kevin McGarry, owner of ACME Comics, says the visit helps bring in customers during a time when local businesses could use support.
“It’s really, really important to have local shops, because we help create tax dollars for the city and it’s a cool place to hang out,” McGarry said. “You want to be able to do something locally instead of doing it online and hang out with people you have like interests with.”
The Grinch visited the shop from 12 to 1 p.m.
