Nothing says "holiday spirit" quite like a 6-foot green holiday villain wandering the aisles of your local Hy-Vee. On December 20th, from 8–11 AM, The Siouxville Grinch descended on Hy-Vee on Hamilton Boulevard in Sioux City for a surprise public appearance.
A Morning Nobody Expected
Last-minute Christmas shoppers loading up on hams, cookies, and eggnog got quite the surprise when a very tall, very green, very grumpy figure rounded the corner of the cereal aisle. Some shoppers did a double-take. Kids grabbed their parents' sleeves. One gentleman nearly dropped his egg carton.
The Grinch made his way through every department — produce, bakery, floral — offering unsolicited opinions on holiday meal choices and occasionally inspecting shopping carts with exaggerated suspicion.
